Black Box MD1000A Analog Sync/Async V.36 Modem, AC Power

The MD1000A is a high-performance V.34+/V.42 bis modem and fax in one unit. It offers serial throughput rates up to 230.4 kbps and works anywhere your telephone can reach, transmitting over standard dialup lines or private leased lines.

Perfect for less-than-ideal transmission lines, this Modem 3600 features echo canceling, auto-adaptive line equalizing, and trellis coding techniques. Automatic rate adaptation enables the modem to automatically decrease the DCE rate when the allowable bit error rate is exceeded (and increase it when line conditions improve). It also has adaptive baud-rate selection, transmit pre-emphasis, automatic transmit-power selection, constellation shaping, and non-linear encoding and pre-coding. The Modem 3600 sends data at up to 33.6 kbps, and it can provide throughput rates up to 230.4 kbps. With data-transfer calls originating from one modem, you centralize and consolidate your corporate call billing. And remote configuration enables you to tend to all those distant modems from your office.

You get the full complement of standard functions required in today's data centers: multiple configuration options (remote, front-panel LCD, or AT command set), full Group III fax capability, V.8-compliant auto-mode, and automatic rate adaptation. That means if your lines are fully conditioned, you get the fastest possible data rates between two modems.
