The STE-501C gateway converts a serial port to Ethernet (TCP/IP), allowing remote monitoring, management, and control of industrial field devices. Capable of accepting either RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 serial communication, the STE-501C is ideal for adding legacy instruments to an Ethernet network. Nearly any serial device may be connected. The STE-501C offers full-duplex, bi-directional data transmission transparent between the serial port and Ethernet network. It also features advanced network data redundancy, Web Server configuration, Serial Manager, Serial Console, and Telnet, allowing users to monitor and manage field devices remotely.

Common serial devices compatible with the STE-501C are PLCs, barcode scanners, display signs, security access controllers, battery backups, pan tilt motors, camera optical zoom lenses, and CNC controllers.
