The DGS-1530-52P is a Layer 2 Stackable Smart Switch that features forty-eight Gigabit PoE ports for downlink and four 10G SFP+ ports for uplink. Surge protection, advanced Layer 2 functions, and a suite of security and management tools make the DGS-1530-52P Switch ideal for Metro Ethernet and campus applications. It delivers up to 30W per port for devices like IP cameras, VoIP phones, and access points, reducing deployment time and cabling costs. It has a 370W PoE budget, expandable to 740W with a redundant power supply, and uses extended LLDP to optimize power distribution to connected devices. It supports IEEE 802.3af PoE and 802.3at PoE+ standards and offers Perpetual PoE for continuous power during switch boot-up and Fast PoE for quick power delivery without waiting for the system to fully start.

The DGS-1530-52P supports up to 6 kV surge protection on all Ethernet RJ-45 ports, protecting the switch from power surges due to lightning strikes or faulty electrical cabling. It supports ITU-T G.8032 Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS), which allows 50 millisecond failover in the event of a failure of one of the rings, minimising service disruption. The switch also supports IEEE 802.1AX and 802.3ad Link Aggregation, which allows grouping of multiple ports to provide redundancy and load balancing in mission-critical environments.

Physical stacking lets multiple switches act as one, boosting scalability and resilience. It reroutes traffic automatically during failures, supports hot-swapping, and ensures seamless master switch failover. Shortest-path forwarding and trunked ports enhance bandwidth and reliability. Up to 9 switches can be combined using DACs/Fibers to make up to 432 Gigabit Ethernet ports available, allowing switching capacity to be increased with demand.

Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP) streamlines setup by enabling the device to auto-configure without manual input. Simply hold the reset button for 5–10 seconds to trigger reboot and provisioning. ZTP speeds up deployment, minimizes errors, ensures consistent configuration, and is ideal for large-scale networks.
