The Ericsson Cradlepoint MC400 is a family of modular modems that may be added to the second modem slot in an Ericsson Cradlepoint router to increase availability and coverage. It may also upgrade existing, fielded routers to the latest technology by swapping out the older modem. There are several MC400 models, including the latest 5G and LTE Advanced Pro model rated at Gigabit-Class LTE performance (CAT 18 at 1.2 Gbps). The higher performance enables the ability to run advanced bandwidth-intensive applications such as live video streaming.
A dual modem combination offers cost-saving opportunities. Control and lower data plan cost by programming the router to automatically switch to the second modem or secondary SIM card when the data plan cap on the primary modem/SIM is reached. By keeping your routers up-to-date with the latest MC400, you not only get better performance, but you will also enjoy a better return on investment because the original hardware remains in place. A dual modem configuration also provides more usable bandwidth during burst or peak usage. And as a secondary backup modem, the MC400 will automatically keep operations online if the first modem fails. This link failover feature significantly improves uptime. A dual-modem, dual-SIM, and multi-carrier combination creates the ultimate in WAN diversity. The versatile MC400 fulfills nearly every communication situation.
The MC400 includes GPS, dual SIM card slots, and connections for MIMO antennas. It may be purchased individually or bundled with a compatible branch, mobile, or IoT router.
Enable your MC400 with a cost-effective monthly data plan to ensure your router is ready to deploy. Select Verizon, T-Mobile, or AT&T, and the data plan size from 100 MB to Unlimited GB. You are billed monthly; there’s no long-term contract. Plus, manage all of your fielded gateways from a single cloud-based web portal.
You can purchase a SIM card from this page. It will be mailed to you in 2 to 3 business days. After you receive your card, sign up for a data plan at Mobility Help Desk. The set up instructions are on this page.
Depending on the model purchased, the MC400 may include four cellular antennas. For mobile and industrial applications, consider the high-performance antennas listed on this page: 4-in-1 (MIMO LTE) antennas. Most come with low-loss RF cables and mounting brackets, allowing you to position the antenna for the best reception.
