The Semtech (Sierra Wireless) AirLink RV50X is one of the industry’s lowest power-consuming and most rugged LTE routers. Simple to install and manage, this industrial-grade router connects critical assets and infrastructure to LTE broadband. It’s ideal for energy, utilities, and intelligent transportation applications, and it can provide real-time remote connectivity for SCADA, distribution systems, and metering.
The next generation of the popular RV50 model, the router provides all the real-time remote connectivity for SCADA, distribution management systems and metering that users have come to know from the RV50 and more. The RV50X is carrier-approved worldwide by all of the same cellular data carriers as its predecessor, the RV50 router, including: Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile USA, Rogers, Bell, Telus, and other cellular data carriers. This depends on which active sim card is placed in the RV50 or RV50X.
With milli-watt operation, the RV50X may be deployed off-grid using batteries or solar. Cloud-based tools with central management allow the RV50X to connect remote systems to your enterprise network. Its programmability enables edge computing applications using the ALEOS Application Framework (AAF).
The Semtech AirLink RV50X is equipped with high-performance LTE-Advanced connectivity, providing Cat 6 speed (300 Mbps downlink and 50 Mbps uplink speeds) for data-intensive networks. The RV50X supports an extensive range of LTE North American bands. As with the RV50, in poor or limited LTE coverage, the RV50X offers fallback to 2G and 3G networks. The RV55 also features a Gigabit Ethernet port, GPS for location tracking, and a serial interface.
The RV50X delivers superior reliability and continuous operation no matter how harsh the environment. A wide temperature range allows it to operate in extreme cold and heat. It meets industrial certifications such as Class 1 Div 2 for hazardous locations, Mil-STD-810G for shock and vibration, and IP64 for dust and water ingress. The RV50X brings cellular connectivity to critical industrial infrastructures.
AirLink network management solutions allow remote monitoring, registration, configuration, and firmware updates. These powerful tools are available as a cloud-based service or on-premises to provide a centralized and remote view of systems deploying RV50X routers.
AirLink CompleteAirLink Complete is a subscription service offering device management through AirLink Management Service (ALMS), Tier 1 technical support, and an extended warranty. It’s an efficient way to optimize deployment, simplify management, and reduce downtime. AirLink Complete is free for a year with the purchase of a new Semtech AirLink RV50X cellular router.
Device ManagementAirLink Management Service (ALMS) is a secure cloud-based package that simplifies remote setup, monitoring, configuration, registration, and updating any number of RV50X routers. ALMS Advanced Reporting and Analytics (ALMS ARA) is an optional add-in for advanced historical reporting and deeper analytics.
