Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine to Machine (M2M) applications are more remote and diverse than ever. By wirelessly connecting unattended systems such as ATMs, kiosks, digital signage, vending machines, and meters, owners can implement centralized management and control. Real-time monitoring, data collection, and diagnostics bring new levels of efficiencies and service. The InRouter302 (IR302) from InHand Networks is an industrial LTE router that offers these features. This small device integrates cellular, Wi-Fi, and VPN technologies to provide reliable and secure Internet connectivity. Certified for use with Verizon and AT&T, the IR302 provides uninterrupted CAT 4, Cat 1, or M/NB-IoT data rates. Its low power and cost make it an attractive solution for many wireless IoT applications.
With two Ethernet ports, Wi-Fi, and two SIM card slots, the IR302 includes the ability to backup and failover one WAN link to another. Should a line break or inadequate wireless coverage drop the primary communication link, automatic link-layer detection will switch to a secondary backup link. SIM failover, PPP layer detection, and self-recovery add to reliability and stability. The IR302 offers strong security protection with VPN, packet inspection, intrusion detection, ACL, filtering, and binding.
A full range of InHand management tools makes network deployment quick and straightforward. InHand Device Manager is a cloud platform offering remote monitoring, configuration, and management of hundreds of devices. You may set up a VPN tunnel between the client and a field controller, e.g., SCADA, upload software updates, remotely diagnose issues, and more.
Industrial communication infrastructure requires routers that can withstand many adverse environmental conditions. The IR302 was designed to resist current surges, voltage spikes, extreme temperatures, and electromagnetic interference. Optional DIN-rail mounting fits standard control panels and cabinets.
Enable your IR302 with a cost-effective monthly data plan to ensure your router is ready to deploy. Select Verizon, T-Mobile, or AT&T, and the data plan size from 100 MB to Unlimited GB. You are billed monthly; there’s no long-term contract. Plus, manage all of your fielded gateways from a single cloud-based web portal.
You can purchase a SIM card from this page. It will be mailed to you in 2 to 3 business days. After you receive your card, sign up for a data plan at Mobility Help Desk. The set up instructions are on this page.
The InHand IR302 includes two LTE antennas for the Main and Aux connectors and a single WiFi antenna if this option is selected. These antennas include a magnetic base and RF cable. For mobile and industrial applications, check the Accessories tab above for high-performance antennas. Many come with low-loss RF cables and mounting brackets, allowing you to position the antenna for the best reception.
