The Semtech (Sierra Wireless) AirLink LX40 is a compact LTE cellular router with Cat 4 or LTE-M/NB-IoT performance and designed for Internet of Things (IoT) and machine-to-machine (M2M) applications. Suited for data-critical applications, it provides a secure wireless connection, network management and routing, and data processing at the network’s edge. Not only is the Semtech LX40 ideal for connecting security cameras, retail point-of-sale terminals, digital signage, and kiosks to the cellular network, but it is also used in industrial applications so long as it’s installed in a fixed, protected (indoor) location.
The AirLink LX40 delivers superior reliability and uninterrupted operation. It may be configured as a low-cost primary WAN connection or set up as a backup WAN and instantly failover when the primary link goes down. Available with optional dual-band IEEE 802.11ac compatible WiFi, the LX40 can operate as an access point or hotspot. It offers out-of-the-box connectivity, making it simple to install and easy to manage.
As part of the AirLink Essential series, the AirLink LX40 meets the environmental and performance requirements of critical wireless applications. The Semtech LX40 comes in LTE Cat 4 variants compatible with the major cellular carriers. You can also choose the LPWA (Low-Power Wide-Area) model offering LTE-M/NB-IoT for applications where low data rates, enhanced cellular coverage, and global deployment are required.
