The Semtech (Sierra Wireless) AirLink RX55 is optimized for Industrial IoT with ultra-low power consumption and a rugged design for extreme conditions. With advanced networking and industry standard container support capabilities, the RX55 delivers intelligence securely at the edge for mission-critical applications on both public and private networks. Its wide operating voltage, makes it ideal for solar or battery powered remote monitoring installations. Its compact, rugged design is built to withstand harsh conditions and, with edge intelligence capabilities, the router’s future-proof design enables applications including grid modernization, smart city, automation and remote machine and sensor monitoring.
The AirLink RX55’s design along with its’ ultra-low power, ethernet and dual-serial port makes it ideal for use in both fixed and mobile industrial applications including power and water utilities, oil fields, pipelines, mines, agriculture, manufacturing, waste management, private networking and SCADA applications.
The Semtech AirLink RX55 solution delivers multi-band, world-wide support providing extensive public network coverage and best-in-class private networking coverage. The router supports FirstNet, Band 71, as well as most private networking bands including CBRS Band 48 in the U.S. The RX55 provides Cat 7 speed (300 Mbps downlink and 150 Mbps uplink) for data-intensive networks. Optional dual-band 2.4 and 5.0 GHz WiFi functions as an access point or hotspot. The RX55 also features a Gigabit Ethernet port, GPS for location tracking, and a serial interface. With its flexible WAN routing capabilities, AirLink OS enables industrial customers to create multiple concurrent data sessions through a new multi-APN solution.
The RX55 delivers superior reliability and continuous operation no matter the environment. A wide temperature range allows it to operate in extreme cold and heat. Certified to Class 1 Div 2 for hazardous locations, Mil-STD-810G for shock and vibration, and IP64 for dust and water ingress, the RX55’s ability to bring industrial networking to the harshest settings is real value.
AirLink network management solutions allow remote monitoring, registration, configuration, and firmware updates. These powerful tools are available as a cloud-based service or on-premises to provide a centralized and remote view of systems deploying RX55 routers.

It is a subscription-based service offering device management through AirLink Management Service (ALMS), Tier 1 technical support, and an extended warranty. It’s an efficient way to optimize deployment, simplify management, and reduce downtime.
Device ManagementAirLink Management Service (ALMS) is a secure cloud-based package that simplifies remote set up, monitoring, configuration, registration, and updating any number of RX55 routers. ALMS Advanced Reporting and Analytics (ALMS ARA) is another add-in for advanced historical reporting and analytics.
AirLink Mobility ManagerThis service offers a VPN application for Airlink routers like the RX55. It simplifies your VPN connection between the edge and enterprise. It’s FIPS 140-2 compatible and agnostic to the carrier, working with fixed and public IP addresses. |
Enable your RX55 with a cost-effective monthly data plan to ensure your router is ready to deploy. Select Verizon or AT&T and the data plan size from 100 MB to 5 GB. You are billed monthly; there’s no long-term contract. Plus, manage all of your fielded gateways from a single cloud-based web portal.
