The Ericsson Cradlepoint IBR1700+MC400-5G is an upgrade of the rugged IBR1700 Category 18 (Cat 18) Gigabit-Class LTE router that includes the MB-MC400-5G backup modem which is added to the second modem slot in the router to increase availability and coverage. This is a limited time promotion from Ericsson.
FirstNet, first responders, public transit, truck fleets, and nearshore shipping vessels count on the IBR1700’s high-performance and reliability to meet demanding communication requirements. Mobile networks require vigorous security measures to protect on-board public WiFi and remote cloud data transfers. The IBR1700 reduces threats by offering cutting-edge multi-zone firewalls, IDS/IPS, and Internet security protocols. The backup MC400-5G modem with a second wireless carrier is included for continuous connectivity. The device also includes advanced WiFi (simultaneous tri-band, IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac wave 2, MU-MIMO), five Gigabit LAN and WAN interfaces, and active GPS with precision dead-reckoning and location. Performance is nothing if a router cannot stand up to a mobile environment. Built for the demands of vehicle operations, the IBR1700 withstands extreme temperature, dust, moisture, shock, and vibration. It supports OBD-II to report vehicle health and diagnostics. It meets MIL-STD-810, IP64, and other safety and regulatory certifications.
The Ericsson Cradlepoint IBR1700 family of mobile routers is sold in a complete NetCloud Service for Mobile Package, which includes cloud management, 24x7 support, and limited lifetime warranty. Offered in a one, three, or five-year subscription plan, NetCloud provides remote configuration and control of your deployed routers. The NetCloud Advanced option adds remote connect, out-of-band management, advanced VPN and tunneling, and location-based services.

Enable your IBR1700+MC400-5G with a cost-effective monthly data plan to ensure your router is ready to deploy. Select Verizon or AT&T, and the data plan size from 100 MB to Unlimited GB. You are billed monthly; there’s no long-term contract. Plus, manage all of your fielded gateways from a single cloud-based web portal.
You can purchase a SIM card from this page. It will be mailed to you in 2 to 3 business days. After you receive your card, sign up for a data plan at Mobility Help Desk. The set up instructions are on this page.
See the Accessories tab or the IBR1700 antenna page for a list of Ericsson Cradlepoint approved, high-performance antennas. Manufactured by top-tier companies like Parsec, Panorama, Mobile Mark, and Taoglas, these omnidirectional antennas are compatible with the IBR1700 router. Most include low-loss extension cables and mounting brackets so you can locate the antenna where you need it for the best signal strength. These antennas or built for demanding environments and are ideal for vehicles, machines, industrial operations, and outdoor locations.
