Cradlepoint R500 PLTE Cellular Router for Private Cellular Networks with NetCloud IoT

The R500-PLTE ruggedized router and the NetCloud IoT service plan offer reliable and high-performance connectivity and edge computing for Private LTE networks. Built to withstand demanding mobile or stationary environments, the Cradlepoint R500 PLTE is a complete wireless networking device delivering enterprise-class standards of quality, data security, scalability, and management. It’s ideal for manufacturing, distribution, transportation, education, and other applications requiring low operating costs and dependable connectivity.

The compact R500 PLTE router with Cat 7 performance provides a Private Cellular Networks (PCN) solution for connecting and securing fielded IoT devices. In addition to the cellular interface, you get Wi-Fi 5, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, and active GPS. The optional COR extensibility dock attaches to the Cradlepoint R500 PLTE to provide a secondary modem, additional LAN ports, and GPIO channels. The R500 PLTE delivers excellent reliability and continuous operation. A wide operating temperature range allows it to endure extreme cold and heat, and with Mil-STD-810G and SAEJ1455 certifications, it’s protected against shock, vibration, and power transients.

The Cradlepoint R500 PLTE includes NetCloud Service Plan for IoT — an all-inclusive service package consisting of remote cloud management, technical support, lifetime hardware warranty, antennas, and power adapter. The NetCloud software features complete visibility to the fielded routers, firewall, VPN, diagnostics, health and status alerts, analytics, and third integrations.

NetCloud IoT Package

Cradlepoint’s NetCloud IoT plan provides optimal performance and centralized management for the Cradlepoint R500 PLTE. It is a service-based platform extending from the cloud to the router, which makes deploying and managing a wireless R500 PLTE router simple and straightforward. Remotely configure, monitor, control, and troubleshoot your network from a web console rather than at the device. NetCloud also improves lifecycle management by delivering updates that are tracked for every endpoint. In addition, it keeps the network operating without disruption with subscription and license administration.

NetCloud is sold in a three or five-year subscription plan and includes 24x7 support, online training, and a Limited Lifetime Warranty on the Cradlepoint R500 PLTE. The NetCloud Advanced option features out-of-band management, real-time troubleshooting tools, location services, health dashboards, and third-part integrations like Microsoft Azure.

Key Software Capabilities
The endpoint with NetCloud provides powerful, centralized management of the R500 PLTE router. It allows users to build and manage wireless WANS with robust security and routing protocols. NetCloud includes VPN services, remote configuration, zone-based firewall, and free updates.

Cradlepoint Verify Mobile Application
Cradlepoint’s Verify mobile app, included with NetCloud, helps installers set up the R500 PLTE quickly and accurately and optimize it for the LTE signal reception. It includes installation pictures, speed test results, and modem metrics.

Connection Manager
Cradlepoint’s Connection Manager manages all WAN connections - whether cellular, Wi-Fi-as-WAN, and wired - from a single software-defined policy. The proprietary software in the modem quickly establishes connectivity at the highest level of security and reliability.

Cloud Services
NetCloud Manager delivers zero-touch deployment and defined policies across entire fleets of endpoints. Users can gain insights, view analytics, and remotely troubleshoot and diagnose issues. Location services and geofence alerts aid in loss prevention and enhance physical security.

Need an IoT Data Plan?

Enable your R500 with a cost-effective monthly data plan to ensure your router is ready to deploy. Select Verizon or AT&T and the data plan size from 100 MB to 5 GB. You are billed monthly; there’s no long-term contract. Plus, manage all of your fielded gateways from a single cloud-based web portal.

Purchase a SIM card from this page. It will be mailed to you in 2 to 3 business days. Then after you receive your card, sign up for a data plan at Westward Connect.
