The MSC-102A from Antaira Technologies is a PCI serial expansion card with two RS-232 ports. It’s a great way to add more serial communication to a server or desktop computer to support older serial devices like modems, plotters, printers and card readers.
Using two 16C550 UARTS and a 16-byte deep FIFO to reduce CPU overhead, it offers a high transfer data rate of 115 kb/s. It supports legacy applications wherein the PCI resources and serial ports are located at standard DOS I/O addresses. Two serial DB-9 connectors are mounted on the front panel and two mounted internally.
