The FL485 from 3onedata Company offers 4500 V surge protection for an RS-485 serial line. It meets the IEC61000-4-5 and ITU-TK20/K21 standards and responds quickly to high voltage and lightning events. The FL485 is current-limited and voltage-clamped, restricting further power from passing down the serial line. Additional energy is discharged to ground. Standard industrial terminal blocks with #10 ground screws must be connected to a solid ground point.

Place the FL485 inline with your RS-485 serial wiring to protect the connected electrical equipment from an electrical surge. The metal housing, sealed against dust, moisture, and corrosion from air particulates, may be installed in nearly any location.
