The Parani SD1000 from SENA Technologies is an RS-232 serial to Bluetooth adapter. It includes Bluetooth v2.0 core electronics, radio circuitry, antenna, and management software all in a compact package. It is an affordable and easy way to convert RS-232 cabling to a short-range wireless connection.
Designed to be low power, it offers high performance and reliable data throughput for a wide range of industrial wireless applications. It is ideal for truck and bus monitoring, machine diagnostics, POS systems, wireless printing, remote monitoring and logistics.
The SD1000 can transmit up to 100 meters with the standard 1 dBi stub antenna or up to 1000 meters with an optional higher gain antenna. It supports up to 4 simultaneous connections, Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum to minimize radio interference, authentication and Bluetooth data encryption.
SENA’s suite of device management tools allows a user to configure, probe and pair the SD1000. It offers backup utilities to store configuration files on a computer. And the software supports terminal emulation, remote firmware upgrades, reboot, and data exchange for Android smartphones.
