The Parani-SD1000U from SENA Technologies is a Bluetooth to USB adapter for wireless serial communications. The compact module contains a Bluetooth v2.0 and USB electronics, radio circuitry, stub antenna, and support software. Operable with laptops, computers, and tablets, the Parani-SD1000U is a simple and affordable way to convert a USB port to a short-range wireless connection.

Its low-power and compact design are compatible with any standard USB 2.0 interface. It offers high-performance and reliable data transfers for a broad range of industrial applications such a truck and bus monitoring, machine communications; system diagnostics, remote data collection, and more.

The SD1000U can transmit data up to 300 meters on a 2.402 to 2.480GHz frequency range with the standard stub antenna.  With an optional 5 dBi dipole antenna, the working communication distance can be extended to 600 meters.  And, the optional patch antenna increases range to 1000m.  SENA’s software tools allow a user to initialize, read, and pair the SD1000U.  It offers utilities to backup configuration files.  Hyper-terminal emulation, AT command set, remote firmware updates, and remote reboot are supported.
