The BTS232 from ATAC is a serial to Bluetooth module that converts a standard RS-232 port to a wireless connection. A pair of BTS-232 modules are commonly used to replace the serial cable between two RS-232 ports. It’s an effective way to extend the data transfer range or to replace a wired connection with a wireless one when running a cable is inconvenient. Many applications pair a single BT232 module to a smartphone to allow convenient monitoring of a remote serial port. The BTS232 is compatible with Bluetooth-equipped computers, laptops, smartphones, and tablets. With auto-pairing, no software installation or configuration is required. It may be powered from an external AC to DC adapter or from pin 9 of the RS-232 connector (5 VDC and150 mA required). The BTS232 is ideal for machine communications, remote monitoring, data collection, and surveying equipment.
