The W1855-5GC Wideband Adapter provides industry-leading Wireless WAN connectivity for optimal signal reception from outdoor installations on buildings and temporary sites that require high bandwidth, when fiber is not an option or link diversity is needed. Other use cases include high-performance cellular connections in SD-WAN, high-performance failover in medium-sized sites, and video broadcasts. This adapter uses a 3GPP Release 16 modem that includes the latest 5G standards. Designed for fixed locations that require the higher performance of 5G and the flexibility of wireless, the outdoor Ericsson Cradlepoint W1855-5GC Wideband Adapter ushers in the next generation of Wireless WAN networking. The W1855 is designed to accommodate the latest spectrums, recent innovations, and breadth of new technologies in 5G while delivering enterprise-class standards of scalability, comprehensive management, and security.

The Ericsson Cradlepoint W1855-5GC adapter is purpose-built for outdoor deployment in the new high-performance low - mid-band 5G spectrum. To address the tradeoff of lower propagation in the mid-band spectrum, Ericsson Cradlepoint designed the W1855 adapter to be placed separately from the router for optimal signal reception. The stylized W1855-5GC adapter is designated for optimal outdoor placement.

While the performance of 5G is top of mind, the W1855 was also designed with enterprise-class standards for high scalability, comprehensive management, and security. Because 5G is a collection of new spectrum, new technologies, and new network infrastructure that is rolling out over several years, the Ericsson Cradlepoint 5G edge networking service and endpoints accommodate the diverse deployments of an organization with hundreds or even tens of thousands of sites.

NetCloud is sold in a one, three, or five-year subscription plan and includes 24x7 support, online training, support, and a Limited Lifetime Warranty on the W1855. In addition, the NetCloud Advanced option adds features such as data traffic analytics, firewall, and URL content filtering.
