The Ericsson Cradlepoint S400 is a cloud managed, secure appliance and router for IoT networks. Offering connectivity through LTE and Wi-Fi, the S400 is designed for light industrial, digital signage, building controls, and kiosk use cases. As a semi-ruggedized, compact IoT device, its innovative design offers field-expandable interface options such as additional Ethernet ports, a serial port, and a GPIO switch. This adaptability allows IT specialists to tailor the device to specific deployment needs.
To ensure that even small, vulnerable IoT devices, which cannot support traditional security methods, remain secure, the S400 includes NetCloud SASE Secure Connect as a part of its subscription license. Secure Connect enables the deployment of a zero-trust network instantly, providing easy to deploy, comprehensive security for large-scale deployments such as IoT devices and vehicle networks.
With an IP30 rated housig built to withstand vibration and temperature extremes and designed for mounting on DIN rails, the S400 is ideal for use in light industrial appliactions such as SCADA, remote monitoring, smart city intelligent traffic control or in applications such as surveillance cameras, digital signs, and control sensors. With an extensive list of features, it can be confidently deployed in the field, in buildings, or embedded systems to deliver complete visibility, security, and control of connected devices anywhere.
For organizations requiring robust connectivity for IoT networks - with installed routers numbering from hundreds to many thousands - Ericsson's NetCloud Secure Services for IoT with the S400 router provides a comprehensive cloud-managed network solution with NetCloud SASE Secure Connect included. With this zero-trust security, any IoT device connected to the S400 is immediately hidden from public scans and from devices connected to other routers. Access policies are easily defined so IoT devices communicate only with their authorized resoures on a least-priviledge basis. Ericsson's NetCloud-managed IoT endpoint can be rapidly deployed and easily scaled to accomodate the diverse requirements of organizations.

Enable your S400 with a cost-effective monthly data plan to ensure your router is ready to deploy. Select Verizon, T-Mobile, or AT&T, and the data plan size from 100 MB to Unlimited GB. You are billed monthly; there’s no long-term contract. Plus, manage all of your fielded gateways from a single cloud-based web portal.
You can purchase a SIM card from this page. It will be mailed to you in 2 to 3 business days. After you receive your card, sign up for a data plan at Mobility Help Desk. The set up instructions are on this page.
The S400 model include two LTE antennas and one WiFi antenna. The S400 Antenna page lists high-performance, rugged antennas from Parsec, Panorama, Mobile Mark, and Taoglas, compatible with the S400 router and approved by Ericsson ;Cradlepoint. They come with low-loss extension cables and brackets, allowing wall, surface, and magnetic mounting for outdoor, mobile, and industrial locations.
