The PIM101 is an expansion board from Axiomtek that adds eight isolated CANbus 2.0 A/B channels to your ICO500-518 computer. Port isolation offers considerable immunity against electrical interference common in industrial applications. By isolating the data and control lines, the serial isolator effectively protects the CANbus electronics from transient surges, voltage spikes, ground loops, and noise. The PIM101 includes two thumbscrews that secure the board to the rails of the PIM (Plug-in I/O Module) slot.
