Fiber optic networks draw power from precision. That is the draw of Antaira Technologies’ IMP-100A media converter. This one device can be customized to support multi-mode or single-mode connection types. With an additional PoE injector, it’s difficult to imagine a single converter offering a larger range of options.
The Fast Ethernet to fiber-optic signal conversion is fully FCC compliant and offers robust signal strength and speed. The SC connectors offer reliability even in intense industrial environments, and selectable operating ranges extend from 2 to 30 kilometers. This is all packaged in an easy-to-install housing that is designed for reliability above all else.
Several advanced features, like Link Loss Forwarding and Link Fault Pass-Through, improve signal integrity and troubleshooting. A redundant power input and the variable mounting brackets prevent hard work from knocking networks offline. Beyond that, the IMP-100A is impressively tough. It is protected against 6000 VDC electrostatic shocks and 3000 VDC power surges. The extended temperature variant can easily withstand temperatures between -40° and 80°C. The 5-year warranty ties the package together, making it easy to trust that this is a long-term investment.
