Approved High-Performance Antennas for the S700 and S750 Routers

The Ericsson Cradlepoint S700 and S750 Routers for IoT networks are semi-ruggedized, cloud-managed LTE routers, built for light industrial, IoT, and portable applications where security is a foundational requirement. Offering connectivity through LTE plus wired and Wi-Fi options, the S700/S750 are ideal for high-availability portable or fixed applications such as surveillance cameras, digital signs, oil and gas monitoring, and parallel networking. The S700/750 provides multiple antenna functions:

The Ericsson Cradlepoint S700-NN models include two LTE antennas and two WiFi antennas. The S700-NA models do not not include antennas. The S700 supports GPS, although a GPS antenna is not included in the box. The S750 is identical but does not include WiFi.

The S700 and S750 are ideal for use in light industrial applications such as oil and gas monitoring or in portable or fixed applications such as surveillance cameras, digital signs, and portable networking. These applications depend on a stable wireless connection, and as such, reliable antennas are fundamental to quality communications.

Outdoor, mobile, and remote locations may require the LTE antenna to be elevated on a pole or mounted securely to a vehicle’s surface. Brackets are available to position the antenna high on a mast, and magnetic bases secure the antenna to a vehicle’s rooftop or trunk lid. These omnidirectional antennas are suited for extreme locations and are IP65 or IP7-rated to prevent dust and water ingress.

Combination antennas consist of a single radome with multiple antenna elements packed inside of it. The number of elements ranges from two cellular to five (two cellular, two WiFi, and GPS). Five is the most common configuration, offering every antenna that may be connected to the S700/S750. Each comes with a set of low-loss cables with various lengths, so you can place the antennas where you need them. Our combination antennas are from top-tier manufacturers and are Ericsson Cradlepoint-approved for the S700 and S750 routers.

Two antennas are recommended for best bandwidth, predictable behavior, and enhanced LTE performance. However, you may connect a SISO antenna to a connector to restrict throughput and save money, power, and space. In most cases, a single cellular antenna will establish communication.
