It is equipped with 8 Fast Ethernet, 2 Gigabit, and RS-232 ports for universal connectivity; however, the Fast Ethernet ports may be replaced with optional Power over Ethernet (PoE) IEEE 802.3af/at compliant ports. A 150-watt budget is available to powered devices (PD) like wireless access points, IP cameras, and digital signs.

The TEN710UW is certified to EN50155 and EN 45545-2 international transportation standards. These standards specify power, temperature, humidity, shock, vibration, and other criteria that electronic equipment must meet for rolling stock and railway applications.
