Heavy-duty fanless touch panel computers are designed to mitigate the harsh, unforgiving environments found in factory automation, self-service retail kiosks, and other industries. Axiomtek built the GOT3157W-832-PCT panel PC with a rugged design capable of withstanding intense temperatures between -10°C to 50°C during use and 20°C to 60°C when in storage. The human machine interface (HMI) computer features a fanless design. It doesn't bring external air and contaminants into the case to cool the components. It’s able to function in high-humidity environments, ranging from 20 percent to 90 percent relative humidity at 40°C. The embedded computer supports traditional hard drive-based storage and CompactFlash to increase its operational vibration range to an impressive 2G at 10 to 500 Hz.
A panel PC is only useful if it has user-friendly interface capabilities that work in the installation environment. Kiosks and mounted computers often don't have a place to put a keyboard and mouse, so users rely on the GOT3157W-832-PCT's projected capacitive multi-touch screen to interact with the device. The capacitive multi-touch screen offers precise control and supports gesture-based input. This HMI sports a 15.6-inch TFT LCD screen with 1366 by 768 resolution. The screen also has a maximum brightness of 400 nits, which gives it high-visibility even in bright indoor use conditions.
The GOT3157W-832-PCT features a power-efficient dual-core, 1.86 GHz, Intel Atom processor. With support for up to 4 GB of DDR3 RAM and integrated Intel GFX, the touch panel only requires an energy bill-saving 10 to 30VDC power supply to operate. The computer doesn't draw much power or contribute substantially to a higher electric bill.
