The EVC-3101 from Antaira Technologies is a high-performance converter from Gigabit Ethernet to VDSL2 (Very-high-data-rate Digital Subscriber Line 2). VDSL2 technology offers the fastest data speeds over existing copper telephone lines. Also known as a Long Reach Ethernet (LRE) converter, this device extends an Ethernet connection over existing POTS wires saving the need to rewire or lay new cable. Plug one end of the splitter (included with the EVC-3101) to the RJ11 wall jack. Connect the other end to the EVC-3101 and a phone. This configuration effectively splits the POTS line from the VDSL2 circuit. A DIP switch allows easy master/slave selection. Asymmetric and symmetric bands are supported
The EVC-3101 offers very high-performance access to the Internet. Expect up to 160Mbps upstream and 200Mbps downstream data rates for a 300-meter distance. For long connections up to 1.4 km, it will achieve data rates of 28 Mbps upstream and 12Mbps downstream. The EVC-3101 supports ITU-T G.993.5 vectoring technology and DSLAMs to remove crosstalk and improve maximum line bandwidth across the existing infrastructure. The compact design is easy to deploy, and the low cost makes it appealing for use in multiple locations. The EVC-3101 is perfect for video, voice over IP, video phones, IPTV, and many other communications functions.
