When you need to send a lot of data across a long distance, fiber optic runs are best. Because most networking devices are not compatible with fiber, an Ethernet to fiber media converter is an easy fix. The Antaira Technologies IMP-C1000-SFP-bt is a media converter with incredible power that allows you to connect 90-watt Power over Ethernet (PoE++) cameras and equipment to an existing fiber network. You can extend your network range on-demand, and the PoE++ port enables you to do it with minimal cable additions. The compact form factor and industrial-grade enclosure make it ideal for connecting power-hungry security cameras, digital signs, kiosks, and large displays.
The dual-rate (100/ 1000SX/LX) Gigabit SFP slot moves a large amount of traffic. With Gigabit data conversion, this single converter lets you put your fastest and most important equipment wherever you need it. The IMP-C1000-SFP-bt has built-in PD Remote Reset Technology function (PRRT). PRRT remotely reboots the media converter and resets the connected powered device (PD). This feature is necessary if the remote PD, such as a camera, locks up and needs to be turned off then on again.
The IMP-C1000-SFP is also an epitome of network reliability. Redundant power combined with surge and overload protection keeps the converter from being knocked offline. A DIN-rail mounting bracket allows installation in small cabinets and panels. There are four model combinations - standard or extended temperature and standard or low power. With an extensive 5-year warranty, you can put the IMP-C1000-SFP-bt media converter’s durability to the test without worry.
This media converter supports Power Remote Reset Technology (PRRT) which is a patented technology found in some of Antaira’s bt PoE industrial switches and media converters. The PRRT feature allows you to easily reset a powered device at a remote site without physically visiting the location. This is done by reconnecting the nearby fiber cable that is connected to Antaira’s bt PoE device. Antaira’s PRRT technology will help you save on travel costs and powered device downtime. PRRT is ideal for long-range fiber applications with a limited budget requiring a remote PoE implementation. In many cases, a remote unmanaged industrial switch or media converter providing PoE power makes it impossible to reset a PoE powered device without actually making a trip to a remote location. Antaira’s patented PRRT is the solution to this problem. The PRRT function can easily be enabled by flipping a switch on the front of the Antaira bt PoE device. This PRRT technology works by automatically dropping the power to the PoE port at a remote site if the link to the fiber port is lost. This will shut down the remote site’s PoE powered device. Once the link is restored to the fiber port, it will automatically turn the power back on to the PoE port. This then powers up the connected PoE powered device which completes the power cycle of the remote device.
