A significant challenge in the world of communication is utilizing equipment in harsh outdoor and industrial locations. Fortunately, WoMaster answers with the WA212BP Rugged Access Point. It provides fast, reliable wireless networking in the face of brutal environments. This industrial long-range WiFi access point configures as a repeater, access point, client, or bridge, making it suited for any wireless job.
The access point utilizes the 2.4 GHz frequency and minimizes interference with standard wireless devices while maintaining universal compatibility. It expands on that compatibility with standard encryption protocols that include AES, WEP, and TKIP. This hub is packed with routing, advanced security, network management, and VPN services. The WA212BP also supports several industrial and cloud platforms such as MQTTS, AWS, Azure, and WoMaster’s monitoring dashboard named ThingMaster. Utilizing dual Fast Ethernet ports with Power Over Ethernet (PoE), installation time is minimized. In addition, embedded high-gain MIMO antennas increase signal reliability and bring fast communication across vast distances up to 2 km at 300 Mbps.
The WA212BP is housed in a plastic, sealed IP55 case. It is entirely waterproof, temperature tested to operate in extremes from -30° to 60°C and meets industrial electrical and safety standards.

Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multiple-Point ConfigurationsWA212BP supports AP, Client, and WDS modes. Users can configure one WA212BP in AP mode, and the other as a client for a point-to-point connection. It is an easy way to extend the wireless distance. If the user has multiple sites and would like to send traffic to a central location, the central unit may be configured in AP mode and the other access points in Client mode. To enhance the distance of the point-to-multiple-points, use the WoMaster WA512 and high-gain omnidirectional antennas as the central AP while the other WA212BP with directional antennas are clients. |
Long-Range Wireless Connectivity without Bandwidth LossThe WA212BP, equipped with two Fast Ethernet ports, supports Bridge and Router modes. In Bridge mode, traffic between the two Ethernet ports is switched without bandwidth loss and users can expand wireless coverage to obtain high bandwidth backhaul. The WAN port supports Secure Remote Access and Cloud IIoT management. |
WA212BP can act as a VPN server for data encryption and dynamic remote access. Multiple VPN protocols are supported, such as OpenVPN, GRE, and L2TP. The channels between multiple networks, e.g., private, public, and hybrid, are fully secured with authentication.
In mission-critical industrial applications, encryption is mandatory, and by default, TCP connections do not use encrypted communication. MQTT relies on the TCP transport protocol. To encrypt the entire MQTT data stream, ThingsMaster and other MQTT brokers allow TLS instead of plain TCP. The MQTTS is standardized at IANA as “secure-MQTT”. All WoMaster Routers and Switches support the latest TLS v1.2 encryption and X.509 authentication.
ThingsMaster OTA (device management over-the-air) is an embedded agent which remotely upgrades the WR212 from your mobile device. ThingsMaster OTA is a secure application installed in private or public service or QNAP NAS (network-attached storage). With OTA, all device information such as location, warning events can be shown in real-time. Maintenance such as configuration reload or device reboot can also be run by the group.
