PARANI-SD1100 Bluetooth to RS-422 / RS-485 Converter

The SENA Technologies’ Parani-SD1100 is a Bluetooth to RS-422 / RS-485 serial adapter.  The compact module contains a Bluetooth v2.0 core interface, radio electronics, stub antenna, and management software. The Parani-SD1100 is an economical and simple method to convert RS-422 or RS-485 cabling to a short-range wireless connection. 

With a low power consumption design, it provides high-performance and reliable data transfers for a broad range of industrial wireless applications. It is ideal for monitoring trucks, buses and rail cars; machine to machine communication; system diagnostics; point-of-sale systems; remote monitoring, and more.

The SD1100 can transmit data up to 100 meters with the standard 1 dBi stub antenna. With an optional 5 dipole antenna, it communicates with devices up to 400 meters. It supports 4 simultaneous connections, Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) to reduce radio interference and hijacking, authentication, and Bluetooth data encryption.

SENA’s toolset of device management software lets you configure, read, and pair the SD1100. It offers utilities to backup configuration files to storage. And, the software supports terminal emulation, AT commands, remote firmware upgrades, and reboot.
