LTE Band 71 (600 MHz)

LTE Band 71 (600 MHz)

Cutting-edge Technology

Westward Sales offers a comprehensive selection of antennas that are designed to support LTE Band 71 (617 - 698 MHz), CBRS, Private LTE spectrums, and more. These antennas are designed with the most cutting-edge technology to support T-Mobile’s new specific spectrum. Installing these antennas into your networks will ensure your systems are oriented toward the future of connectivity technology. Take a look at our LTE Band 71 antennas or give us a call for support finding the right antenna for your network’s needs.

What is LTE Band 71?

LTE Band 71 comprises 84 MHz of bandwidth of continuous 600 MHz spectrum. This specific section of bandwidth is intended to be the most efficient spectrum arrangement made explicitly for mobile networks and compatible devices. LTE was designed to work across a number of different frequency bands. It was developed to support both the time division duplex and the frequency division duplex.

Since its integration into the mobile connectivity market, LTE band 71 has mostly been employed to bring faster, more reliable communications in more rural sections of the US, like Montana and Southwest Kansas. In 2017, the FCC auctioned off a band of the spectrum consisting solely of 600 MHz wavelength. The mobile communications company T-Mobile won the bid and has used its newly acquired assets to bolster rural coverage across the US. These new reinforcements will also help the company combat grumbling of poor reception in rural areas and in buildings.

5G Network and LTE Band 71 Network Capabilities

Because Band 71 is a very low frequency band, it can reach much further than other spectrum bands, this equates to fewer cellular towers needed to cover a given area. T-Mobile’s new 600 MHz spectrum is largely being utilized in rural areas to ensure T-Mobile users are still able to stay connected when traveling outside urban areas where cell service is notoriously spotty. It should be noted that Band 71 is not 5G, but 5G can be supported with a compatible device.
