The LIC023A-R4 ultra-compact, plug-and-play converter supports USB power using an optional USB power cable (part number LHC021A). For added flexibility, the Industrial MultiPower Media Converter can be powered via an external AC adapter or 5-50-VDC terminal block power. This Industrial MultiPower Media Converter is designed for use in harsh industrial environments.
Multiple power options can be used simultaneously for maximum redundancy, ensuring continuous operation of mission-critical applications. If one source fails, the others will seamlessly keep the converter powered, so you can use AC and DC power together or USB and DC power together. AC and USB use the same power connection on the device and can never be used at the same time.
Link Fault Pass-Through (LFPT) functionality can be enabled or disabled via a DIP switch on the unit. This feature combines TX LinkLoss (for twisted pair/copper interfaces) and FX LinkLoss (for fiber interfaces) between paired media converters. When enabled, LFPT passes a link fault through the device at each segment. If a link fails on one interface, the media converter will bring down the link on its partner and pass the fault to the next interface. Disabling LFPT helps when troubleshooting by not propagating the fault through the unit so the area where the issue resides can be determined.
The LIC023A-R4 converter comes with DIN clips, so you can attach it to a DIN rail. When installing multiple Industrial MultiPower Media Converters on a DIN rail, use one DC input source, then cascade from one DC block to the next until you reach the maximum current available.
Note: This replaces the LIC023A-R3.
