Fanless touch panel computers are built to address the installation and environmental conditions required outside of a home or office setting. Axiomtek addresses those two main issues with the rugged, compact GOT3846T-832. This human machine interface (HMI) PC can handle various tasks in intelligent transportation, factory automation, oil and gas monitoring, and security applications. Extreme temperatures aren't much of an issue for this embedded PC thanks to its fanless cooling capabilities. This device operates in temperatures as low as -20°C and as high as 55°C. Additionally, the lack of internal airflow from the fanless design makes the panel PC extremely resistant to humidity. It operates in relative humidity between 10 and 95 percent at 40°C.
The GOT3846T-832 is an excellent option for high-vibration work conditions. When equipped with a traditional hard disk drive, it can work under 1G of vibration between 5 and 500 Hz. Alternatively, the vibration resistance increases to 2G if the panel PC uses the optional CompactFlash storage solution. When combined with the fanless cooling, the CompactFlash storage solution eliminates all internal moving parts from the HMI computer. The IP65 rated front bezel keeps out dust, debris and water.
The GOT3846T-832 features a compact design thanks to its 8.4-inch display. The embedded computer features slim 248 mm (W) x 58.3 mm (D) x 183 mm (H) dimensions, so it can be conveniently installed in even the tightest of spaces. The small form-factor helps the touch panel stay out of the way when installed on an arm configuration. It also has a minimal footprint when installed on a desktop stand. This HMI computer also features a resistive touchscreen, so it can be used in locations where it's not convenient to connect a keyboard and mouse. However, the device's four USB 2.0 ports allow for peripheral device connection as needed.
