The STW-601C, manufactured by Antaira Technologies, is a serial to Ethernet server which connects a serial device to a wireless network. It features a Fast Ethernet port, a 2.4 GHz wireless interface, and a serial port that may be configured in software as an RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 connection.
The STW-601C transmits full-duplex, bi-directional data between the serial port and wireless LAN. It includes WEP and WPA security encryption. A Virtualcom software application creates virtual COM ports for the local computer. An extended operating temperature, serial port isolation, metal case, and DIN-rail mount makes the STW-601C suitable for harsh industrial locations.
