Antaira MSC-216A 16-Port RS-232 PCI Express Card with Powered Ports

The MSC-216A1, from Antaira Technologies, is an RS-232 PCI Express (PCIe) adapter that adds 16 channels of serial communication to 19” rack mount servers, desktops and workstations.  Built for intense serial applications, it may function as a client or server to connect serial devices like point-of-sale terminals, meters, RFID scanners, card readers and instruments.   Each VHDCI-68 front panel connector cables to eight DB-9 connectors.  The DB-9s offer pins to supply 5V and 12V of power.  The MSC-216A1 offers and efficient PCIe interface for fast transfers and reduce CPU utilization.
