Monitoring Sensor and IIoT Devices with a Portable Battery-Powered CAse

When critical systems are located in remote areas, temporary sites, or facilities with no available network, monitoring sensor data becomes a significant challenge. Our Portable Monitoring and Control Station solves this by housing the precision of the Ethernet I/O PLC inside the world-class protection of a protective carrying case. Whether you are monitoring environmental sensors, fire panels, or industrial machinery, this wireless mobile case provides real-time data and relay switching wherever you are in range of a WiFi or cellular signal.

The system incorporates a small but intelligent ControlByWeb X-401 Ethernet I/O PLC, providing two 1-Amp relays to trigger sirens, reset equipment, or open gates. Two discrete inputs are available to monitor nearby sensors and switches. Built-in WiFi enables seamless data transmission to the ControlByWeb Cloud, which offers simplified remote device access, data logging, and advanced analytics. For truly off-grid sites, the case is cellular-ready, with space for an optional industrial router.

A rugged Neutrik bulkhead connector mounted to the case wall provides a "plug-and-play" interface for exterior sensors from fire alarm panels or flow meters, without compromising the case's environmental seal. An LED battery monitor, mounted on the mid-panel, provides an instant readout of voltage and remaining life, ensuring your monitoring never goes dark unexpectedly.

Key Features

  • Total portability with no external power or hardwired internet required.
  • Integrated X-401 logic controller with I/O
  • External Neutrik and RJ45 connectors

Versatile Monitoring Applications

Our Portable Monitoring and Control Station carrying case is ideal for infrastructure and asset monitoring. The integrated ControlByWeb X-401 offers an incredible amount of logic in a very small footprint. It provides "Peace of Mind" and "Remote Visibility" for facility managers and safety engineers managing critical applications, including automation, equipment status, security access, alarm panels, and more.

Temporary Fire Alarm Monitoring. During building renovations or at temporary event structures, fire alarm systems may not yet be connected to a central monitoring station. By wiring the fire panel into the Neutrik bulkhead, safety teams receive instant cloud-based alerts the moment a smoke or heat sensor is tripped.

Environmental & Cold Storage Tracking. The Portable Monitoring and Control Station is ideal for temporary vaccine clinics, food festivals, or remote laboratories. Temperature probe data, for example, may be logged and "Out-of-Range" alerts sent to your smartphone before inventory is lost.

Remote Pump & Tank Management. Deploy the case at remote pumping stations or water tanks. Use the inputs to monitor high-level floats or pressure sensors, and use the data to recommend shutting down pumps if a leak or anomaly is detected.

Critical Asset Protection. Monitor the "health" of expensive remote equipment. The Portable Monitoring and Control Station can track power status, door-open sensors for security, or vibration sensors, providing an audit trail of every interaction with the asset.
