The AirLink MP70, XR80, XR90, & LX60 may be connected directly to the vehicle bus using a simple OBD-II (6001204) or J1939 (6001192) cable assembly from Semtech (Sierra Wireless).
The 6001192 Y-cable assembly enables the router to collect vehicle bus data through a J1939 connection. The 5-meter long Y-cable is terminated with a J1939 (Deutsch 9-pin Type I/I) connector at one end and two 8-pin locking connectors at the other ends, which fit the router's auxiliary I/O port. The 6001192 is compatible with most major vehicle makes and models.
To start collecting vehicle telemetry data, a user must download and install the AirLink Vehicle Telemetry Application (AVTA). This application collects telemetry data from the AirLink router and sends it to AirLink Management Service (ALMS), AirLink Mobility Manager (AMM), or a 3rd-party system.
