RV55 Antennas

RV55 Antennas

Approved High-Performance Antennas for the RV55 Routers

Industrial and mobile wireless networks require high-performance antennas to improve signal quality and data throughput. Semtech offers an extensive portfolio of antennas paired with the rugged LTE-Advanced Pro AirLink RV55 cellular router. These high-quality AirLink antennas have been tested and certified to optimize cellular and WiFi performance. The RV55 includes antenna connections for MIMO LTE, MIMO WiFi (or no WiFi), and GPS.

The RV55 offers low power consumption and industrial-grade construction, making it ideal for critical networks required by alternative energy, public transportation, and automation applications.

Likewise, AirLink antennas are built to withstand the demands of these industries. They come in several styles – dome, panel, shark fin, and paddle. They are suited for extreme locations and are IP65 or IP67-rated to prevent dust and water ingress. Select from high-gain directional or omnidirectional designs.

Combination antennas, or multi-antennas, consist of a single radome with multiple antenna elements integrated within it. A 5-in-1 multi-antenna is the most common configuration consisting of two cellular, two WiFi, and GPS elements. For RV55 router configurations without WiFi, a 3-in-1 (two cellular and a single GPS) is ideal. Outdoor, mobile, and remote locations may require the AirLink antenna to be elevated on a pole or mounted securely to a vehicle’s surface. Brackets are available to position the antenna high on a wall, and magnetic bases secure the antenna to a vehicle’s rooftop or trunk lid. Each antenna comes with a set of low-loss cables with various lengths, so you can place the antennas where you need them.

Two cellular antennas for the Main and Aux ports are recommended for best bandwidth, predictable behavior, and enhanced wireless performance. However, you may connect a SISO antenna to the Main connector to restrict throughput and save money, power, and space. The same is true for the WiFi connections. AirLink antennas support North American mobile networks, CBRS, dedicated Private LTE, and FirstNet bands.
