Patton Electronics’ FP1004E is a robust 6-port unmanaged Gigabit (10/100/1000TX) Ethernet switch for light industrial applications. The unit features four (4) RJ45 UTP ports and two (2) flexible SFP slots. The FP1004E is suitable for VoIP, SCADA, physical security, IT infrastructure, industrial controls or networked audio applications. Two or more FP1004E units may be daisy-chained together over fiber to provide a distributed network when isolation, distance, security, or noise immunity is required between nodes. The flexible SFP ports may be configured separately when bridging networks based on two different standards. The FP1004E may be purchased with or without SFPs. The unit comes with a DIN-rail clip. Or, up to three units may be installed in the optional 1U TDR-01 rackmount shelf. It is powered by a 9 VDC AC power adapter (included) or through the integrated three-pin terminal block connector.
The flexibility of the SFP ports allows for full 1000BASE-X support standard. Simply by selecting the appropriate SFP module a standards compatible GbE port can be created. Each SFP can actually be configured separately; this can be useful if networks based on two different standards needs to be bridged.
