The IR901L-FS31 (IR901L) is an embedded, router module developed with the latest 4G LTE Category 1 (CAT 1) technology. CAT 1 offers low-power, low-bandwidth communications of 10Mbps downlink and 5Mbps uplink. It was developed to support the industrial Internet of Things (IoT) and machine-to-machine (M2M) communications. These devices require lower data rates, often transmitting small amounts of data in short bursts. Common applications include monitoring meters, battery status, and alarms. Lower performance is coupled with lower costs. And, you’ll find to IR901L to be very economically priced.
The IR901L is intended to save money and time to market. It integrates into a product or system to quickly connect to Verizon Wireless' cellular network. The compact form factor is powered by a Cortex-A8 processor with 128MB of system memory. It includes a minimal set of interfaces -- 4G LTE, dual antenna sockets, 1 Fast Ethernet port, and a serial port.
Like other InHand InRouters, the IR901L provides reliable, continuous communication. It features multi-layer link detection and recovery to detect a link failure and rollover to the backup link. Advanced router functions like RIP and OSPF facilitate automatic, large-scale IoT deployment. Use Dynamic Multipoint VPN (DMVPN) to quickly build large mesh VPN networks. Standard SNMP and InHand Device Manager tools enhance management and configuration. And, the IR901L includes a comprehensive firewall, VPN, and multi-level user authorization for security.
