The ProBee-ZS10 from Sena Technologies is an RS-232 serial to ZigBee adapter. It includes a ZigBee core, radio circuitry, antenna and management software. It is an affordable and simple way to wirelessly transmit data in an industrial environment. Designed to be low cost and low power, it offers high performance and robust data throughput for wide range of wireless applications. It is ideal for home and building automation, smart energy, medical devices, advanced meters, smart appliances, lighting and HVAC control and security systems.
Fully certified under the latest ZigBee Alliance standards, the ZS10 is interoperable with other ZigBee devices. With outdoor line-of-sight and the 5 dBi dipole antenna, it transfers data up to 250 kbps at a maximum distance of 1.6 km (1 mile). It supports multiple data transmission methods including retransmission for improved reliability. The ZS10 accepts power from a standard USB port, pin 9 from the RS-2332 connector or from an AC to DC adapter. For stand-alone operations, select the standard or extended battery pack (optional). The Zigbee ZS10 may be configured and managed from an easy-to-use Windows tool or AT command set. Remote configuration and remote firmware upgrades are easy with the ProBee Manager.
The ProBee Manager for the ZS10 is a Windows based utility that can easily read and modify configuration values of local and remote nodes. It won’t interfere with your application software. Use the ProBee Manager to export a configuration from the current node and import it to other nodes, restore factory default settings, upgrade the firmware of nodes; and clone local node firmware and paste it to other nodes.
